Al- Shammasiya Urban Observatory is a specialized center that works on collecting, analyzing and producing urban indicators to be used in preparing, following up and evaluating urban development plans and policies at all levels. Moreover, It monitors the urban status and feeds the decision-making process with information in all urban development fields.

The urban observatory started its work more than three years ago (three production cycle), distinguished by following the methodologies of various urban indicators, which variety of global and local indicators, and indicators related to the Kingdom’s vision 2030. In the first cycle, about 201 indicators were produced, which decreased in the second cycle to 198 urban indicators, and the same number of indicators (198) produced in its last cycle.
