Study Area

- Al- Shammasiya Urban Growth Boundary to 1450AH : The urban boundary total area of Al-Asyah which approved by Ministerial Resolution No. (157) on 11/5/1428 AH is (2069.21 HA), includes the main urban zone of the city, in addition to center of Al-Rabiaah, without villages and sub-urban areas shown on the map below.

The Built Up Area of Al- Shammasiya city takes the Linear City shape where it is distributed on both sides of the main traffic axis ( King Abdulaziz Road), which extends from south to north, where the Al-Rabiaah is located, and in the west there are the new neighborhoods of the city.

- Characteristics and urban components of Al- Shammasiya City: Based on studies in 1439 AH, Vacant blots constitute the largest proportion of the urban zone which is (12.1) square kilometers and a percentage (58.31%), while the percentage of residential and mixed residential uses was (5.0%), Cultivation blots (11.09%) and public services (1.47%).
